Water Drop on Lotus Leaf

About

About The Lotus Effect

The beautiful lotus grows in murky, muddy and dirty water but blooms every morning untouched by the impurity of its surroundings.

When a water drop forms or falls on a lotus leaf, the leaf surface by virtue of being superhydrophobic allows the water drop to stay on it without breaking it into smaller droplets. The water drop (often looking like a small crystal ball) glistens in the white light of the sun, and stays and rolls on the leaf, yet doesn’t mix with the leaf losing its individuality.

Lotus Effect
Philosophers opine life in this amazingly beautiful yet equally perplexing world is meant to be akin to the water drop on lotus leaf – happy yet unindluged, sad yet unbroken, excited yet restrained.

When life becomes like the water drop, a dynamic equilibrium is experienced amidst the ruffle of thoughts and overwhelming dance of emotions. Actions start reflecting a sense of detachment in this world of attachment. Like the wise say, “Love as everything as everything is yours, but nothing belongs to you is the real chapter”.
